About Delaware National Guard
The Delaware National Guard provides protection of life, property and preserves peace, order and public safety. These missions are accomplished through emergency relief support during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and forest fires; search and rescue operations; support to civil defense authorities; maintenance of vital public services and counterdrug operations.
The Delaware National Guard's federal mission is to maintain properly trained and equipped units, available for prompt mobilization for war, national emergency, or as otherwise needed. The Air and Army National Guard are partners with the Active Air Force and Army and the Army and Air Force Reserves in fulfilling the country's military needs. During an average year, Soldiers and Airmen are been pulled for duty in more than 80 countries in a wide variety of operations including peacekeeping, stabilization, security, nation building, etc .
Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (SAPR)
The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program or SAPR is a Department of Defense initiative approved in August 2008. Aggressively implementing the new Sexual Assault Prevention Strategy consists of four overlapping phases, each of which have specific goals for reducing sexual assault while simultaneously increasing the propensity to report this crime .
