All words used to describe a "real man." But what do these words really mean, and how does one live by these qualities? Join Delaware MEN in taking a closer look at the consequences of the behaviors and attitudes associated with what we as a culture accept as normal "manhood." We EDUCATE each other about how one's understanding of being a "real man" may put limits on us as men and boys and hurt women and girls. We TAKE ACTION to make our communities and homes safe places for our mothers, sisters and daughters, and a welcoming place for our fathers, brothers and sons. We work together through trial and evaluation to discover the most effective ways to intervene as an individual or group when we witness negative behaviors or social structures that may lead to violence or inequality. We are committed to creating a world free of violence and inequality as we recognize that though we can NOT choose the world we are given, we CAN create the world we wish to live in...through purposeful action. |
